Eric Mathew

Eric Mathew is Iridescent Bloom's auxiliary, both as a percussionist and as an extra hand. Eric began his musical journey on trumpet in the 5th grade, yet decided to leave his school's band program two years later in pursuit of other interests, specifically soccer. Fellow Iridescent Bloom member, Jamiia Love, convinced Eric to take up performance once again after noticing his talents as a percussionist.

Eric joined Jamiia, Laurel, and Noah during Iridescent Bloom's first live performance, a cover of Summertime by George Gershwin. Since Eric's renewed career as a performing musician, he has been a featured guest of SMSE Jazz and occasionally helps with the Washtenaw Community's Town Band.

In Iridescent Bloom, Eric has been an invaluable asset, earning him the title "Most Valuable Eric" (MVE).
