Say hello to Iridescent Bloom, a fusion combo hailing from Southeast Michigan, blending the sophistication of Jazz, the energy of Rock, and the heart of the Blues. Performance recordings can be found on this website, including a live recording of their original song: “Blue Badeka” (available to stream on YouTube and major audio streaming services).
The founding and primary members are: Eric Mathew (on a wide array of auxiliary percussion), Jamiia "Love" Franklin (on woodwinds, bass guitar, and keyboard), Laurel "Mae" Pung (on brass, guitar, and keyboard), and Noah "Mic" Gorman (on drums and electronics).
As a band, Iridescent Bloom releases music under Bloom Records. Having already released a single, a cover, and collaborated with various friends and ensembles, Iridescent Bloom now has their sights set on their first EP, A Glitch in the Garden, set for release on August 8, 2025 (more on that coming soon!)
These photos of the Iridescent Bloom members: Eric Mathew, Jamiia Love, Laurel Mae, and Noah Mic were taken during a live performance in November, 2024 by Rex Timbs.
Eric Mathew provides stability and depth to Iridescent Bloom as a reliable and exceptionally talented musician. Eric has served as our auxiliary percussionist and earned the title "MVE" for his work. After leaving his school's band program in 7th grade, Eric has revitalized his live performance career with Iridescent Bloom.
Jamiia Love is is a classically trained oboist and clarinetist that enjoys experiencing a large variety of music. As such, she became a proficient multi-instrumentalist who's active in several local ensembles. In Iridescent Bloom, Jamiia plays Bass Guitar and Woodwinds, occasionally filling in as a keyboardist when a song calls for it.
Laurel Mae enjoys exploring a wide spectrum of musical possibilities. In Iridescent Bloom, Mae primarily plays Guitar and Brass, occasionally stepping in on Keyboard when a song requires it. With a strong foundation in music education and training as a french hornist, she decided to focus her efforts on furthering her guitar skills.
Noah Mic anchors Iridescent Bloom with his dynamic drumming and electronic music work, drawing from a wide-ranging background in performance. From the precision of concert halls to the energy of drumlines, Mic brings a versatile and creative rhythmic sensibility to the band's genre-bending music, laying the foundation and creative rhythmic sensibility to the band's genre-bending music.
